Colquitt Electric Membership Corp., a consumer-owned electric distribution system based in Moultrie, Ga., has licensed Apex's ProField mobile field management technology for its upcoming deployment of the Landis+Gyr Gridstream RF advanced metering system.

The project, consisting of 65,000 meter exchanges within a seven-county service territory, will be the largest to date for CEMC.

"The ProField solution will greatly simplify the enormous task of changing all of our meters with a high degree of accuracy," says Milton Willis, technical services supervisor at CEMC. "The feature set of camera, bar coding, GPS location and cellular modem will make the project progress smoothly."
