Oracle has announced the availability of Oracle Utilities Data Model, a pre-built standards-based data warehouse schema and set of business intelligence dashboards designed to help utilities analyze growing smart grid and other enterprise data.

According to Oracle, its solution can help utilities implement an enterprise data warehouse platform that is both adaptable and extendable for cross-domain reporting, analytics and data mining.

The company notes that Oracle Utilities Data Model is based the Common Information Model, a standard developed by the electric power industry and officially adopted by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
