Solar photovoltaic developer 8minutenergy Renewables LLC and independent solar power producer saferay Inc. have signed a generation interconnection agreement for 90 MW of solar photovoltaic power with the California Independent Systems Operator Corp. and Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

8minutenergy and saferay have a joint development agreement to develop and build the 90 MW Redwood Solar Farm in Kern County, Calif., 8minutenergy says.

According to 8minutenergy, the Redwood Solar Farm is sited on 640 acres of low-productivity farmland. Construction is projected to begin in 2014, with the site expected to be operational by mid-2015.
