Utility Santee Cooper and independent power producer EDF Renewable Energy have dedicated the Pinelands Biomass project, which consists of two nominal 17.8 MW generating facilities located in Allendale and Dorchester counties in South Carolina.

According to EDF, the Dorchester facility achieved commercial operation on Nov. 1, and the Allendale facility followed on Nov. 19.

EDF says the two projects interconnect to Santee Cooper's transmission system adjacent to the sites under 30-year power purchase agreements.
