Electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens has become a sponsor member of the OpenADR Alliance.

OpenADR says that as a sponsor member, Siemens joins the board of directors that includes Southern California Edison, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Pacific Gas & Electric, AutoGrid, EnerNOC and Honeywell.

The organization notes that it fosters the development, adoption and compliance of the open automated demand response standard through collaboration, education, training, testing and certification.
