Energy storage system provider Stem Inc. has appointed John Carrington CEO.

Carrington has over 25 years of experience in technology, energy and industrial companies. Prior to joining Stem, he was CEO at solar company MiaSole. Before that, Carrington was executive vice president, marketing and business development, at First Solar.

He also spent over 16 years at General Electric, most recently as general manager and chief marketing officer of GE Plastics.

Stem notes that its current CEO, Salim Khan, will remain with the company until Dec. 31 to assist in transitioning his responsibilities to Carrington.
