The North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC) has named Charles A. Berardesco new general counsel, effective July 2.

Prior to joining NERC, Berardesco served as Constellation Energy's senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer, as well as chief legal adviser to the company's board of directors. He joined Constellation in January 2003.

Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Berardesco practiced law and served in senior executive positions for nearly 20 years, including vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Fusara, a consortium of AIG, Kemper and Prudential.
