Ambient Corp., a provider of a smart grid communications and applications platform, has launched two new smart grid nodes: the Ambient MicroNode and Ambient MiniNode.

The two smart grid nodes complement the existing Ambient Smart Grid Node, which has been updated with more powerful grid analytics capabilities, the company says.

The products use a single infrastructure for multiple applications, such as advanced metering infrastructure, volt/VAR optimization, and outage detection and transformer monitoring, Ambient adds.
