Survalent Technology has commissioned a new supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for Wasaga Distribution, a Wasaga Beach, Ontario-based utility that serves 12,000 customers.

Survalent notes that Wasaga Distribution has more than 235 km of conductors, over 1,400 distribution transformers and nearly 5,000 poles in service, fed from five owned - and one shared - distribution stations.

The new SCADA system features Survalent's open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It also includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including WorldView, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and SCADA Add-in for Microsoft Excel.
