NRG Energy Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary NRG Solar, has completed the 25 MW Avra Valley solar power project, located near Tucson, Ariz. The facility's electricity will be sold to Tucson Electric Power (TEP) under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

"We've worked hard to embrace solar energy as a clean, cost-effective renewable resource for our customers," says Paul J. Bonavia, TEP's chairman and CEO. "The NRG system shows how we can expand our renewable energy portfolio while also investing in our community and helping to create jobs."
