Ventyx, an ABB company, has hired Rick Nicholson as vice president of transmission and distribution (T&D) solutions. He will focus on identifying the future requirements of utilities and creating a solutions road map based around emerging customer needs.

Nicholson was most recently group vice president at IDC Energy Insights, where he was responsible for a team that provided analysis and strategic advice to a spectrum of utilities, oil and gas companies, government agencies, financial institutions and technology vendors.
