EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) has acquired the remaining 49% interest in the 161 MW Spinning Spur II wind project from Cielo Wind Power LP. EDF RE now fully owns the project, which will be located on approximately 16,800 acres in Oldham County, Texas.

Once construction is complete in mid-2014, Spinning Spur II will be one of the first projects to take advantage of the new Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) transmission infrastructure in the Texas Panhandle. The electricity generated from the wind farm will be sold under a 10-year power purchase agreement.
