Tantalus has announced that the Mohegan Tribal Utility Authority, which serves the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, has selected Tantalus as the exclusive smart grid communications provider for the facility.

Mohegan Sun utilizes more than 100 GE polyphase meters at its casino, hotel and independently owned retail stores, and it will deploy the Tantalus Utility Network (TUNet) for real-time meter reading via a fiber backbone.

Owned and operated by the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, Mohegan Sun operates in an approximately 3.1 million square-foot facility, making it the second largest casino in the U.S.
